???????????? Ever been an A-hole? ????????????

I have! So, my mood lately has been outrageous. I blame snow. So. Much. Snow.

Because of my mood I’ve had to say sorry…a lot. And, as Elton John says “sorry seems to be the hardest word.”

It may be hard, but I’m sorry is also one of the most powerful phrases in the English language. It says I did something wrong and I’m asking for you to forgive me.

So, how do you offer an “I’m sorry” that matters?

Here’s three simple (but not easy) steps.

1. Say I’m sorry.
2. Explain the behavior that was inappropriate.
3. Acknowledge you were wrong and tell them how much they mean to you.

So, it looks something like this…

Hey, was an a-hole earlier and I’m sorry. The past week has been super overwhelming and I was rude to you. That was inappropriate as you are my friend and you’re important to me.

We are all going to be jerks sometimes. So learning how to say sorry…it’s a skill we all must have.
