☔️☔️☔️ …When it rains it pours …☔️☔️☔️

So grab an umbrella.

It never seems like it’s *just* one thing. It’s always a million. And we get overwhelmed.

What we don’t realize is we can grab an umbrella and keep ourselves a little bit dry. And by an umbrella I mean we can create boundaries.

October of 2019 was outrageous for me. I had a week on the road with a client and then I was off to Eastern Europe to present at two conferences. I hopped off a plane and participated in multiple events for startup week in Lincoln…jet lagged and all.

I knew that month was going to be very terrible. So I put one boundary in place.

And that boundary *might* surprise you.

For the month of October I chose to have zero difficult conversations. I knew I wouldn’t have the emotional capacity to resolve any issues that month…and it was quite possible I would be so stressed that I would have created issues that weren’t there.

Boundaries keep us safe, and they keep others safe as well. They protect relationships and they protect our sanity.

By deciding not to have any hard conversations that month I wasn’t avoiding. I was simply giving myself the gift of letting go for a few weeks.

So, what’s your umbrella look like? What boundaries have you put in place that made it easier for you to #BelieveInYourSelfie?

Remember, you’ve got to believe in your selfie, because if you don’t, who will?
